Kaleidoskop – Quetsch ’n’ Vibes

The Austrian trio Quetsch `n´ Vibes, made up of the Styrian musicians Johannes Kölbl, Leonhard Waltersdorfer & Hannes Schöggl, has set out to export the instrument of their homeland – the Styrian accordion – into all kinds of musical styles and to combine it with instruments rather unusual for folk music, from vibraphone & marimba to handpans & mbira to the musical saw. From arrangements of Viennese music from the Strauss era to Johann Sebastian Bach & Georges Bizet to original compositions – Quetsch `n´ Vibes offers a colorful musical kaleidoscope in which the Styrian accordion finds a new home far from its natural habitat.
