Oans – Woutl

Every musician needs a dance band. And since this law doesn’t exclude horn players either, the Woutl Musi was founded in 2020. With three melody instruments, harp, Styrian accordion and tuba, the lineup resembles a typical Tanzlmusi – but with us Woutls, the melody is played by a flugelhorn and two Woutl horns. These are custom-made horns that look like a bass trumpet but produce a round, dark sound of their own.

Since these instruments never fail to amaze, and the Styrian roots of two of our members can’t be denied, the local expression “Woutl!” has become the emblem of our music.
