Microcosm<\/em><\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Styrian accordion, kalimba and percussion meet analog effects and modular synthesizers. Melodic fragments from Alpine and Nordic folk music are recorded live, transformed and looped \u2013 accompanied by real-time visuals by Madeleine Haider that enter into a dialogue with the music.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Quetsch \u2019n\u2019 Vibes<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Quetsch \u2019n\u2019 Vibes brings musical worlds together: the folk music of the Styrian accordion merges with the jazzy sound of the vibraphone, earthy marimba tones and many other exotic instruments. The result is a river of new sounds and colors on which the trio deftly navigates between worlds.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Sturm & Klang<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Sturm & Klang are at home in folk music \u2013 but not the kind of home where everything has its fixed place; rather one where the furniture gets moved around and the walls are painted in bright colors. Feeling and a love of art instead of strict logic, without forgetting their roots: that\u2019s how undiscovered soundscapes emerge on the way to the future of folk music.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Musical cabaret \u00b7 \u201cverh\u00e5ckert\u201d<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Mamabeda<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

The musical cabaret \u201cverh\u00e5ckert\u201d tells \u2013 loosely based on Wilhelm Rudnigger and Peter Rosegger \u2013 the story of young Valentin Blendenbauer. He falls head over heels for the \u201cDiandl im H\u00fctterl \u00fcbern Bacherl beim Bam\u201d (the girl in the little hut by the brook under the tree) and has to fight his way all the way up to the Lord himself with the all-important question \u201cDerf i\u2019s Dirndle liabn?\u201d (May I love the girl?). The redeeming answer: \u201cWegan Biabal haun i\u2019s Diandle gmocht!\u201d (I made the girl for the lad\u2019s sake!)<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Listening to Seitinger & Maierhofer, you picture Ludwig Hirsch casually meeting \u00c9dith Piaf and Django Reinhardt for a beer \u2013 and happening to have a guitar with him. Together they sing about the beauty and the roughness of everyday life.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

An anagram is made by rearranging letters to find a new word. With us, the name says it all: a nod to our frontwoman Anna Hiden and a play on music and words. Styrian accordion, piano, drums, bass and three-part vocals add up to a grounded, honest, earthy sound \u2013 with German lyrics that take no detours. Goosebumps guaranteed.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

The Styrian duo Tubonika looks for something different and finds its luck in combining old and new \u2013 a respectful break with tradition. The two bring folk music into the present, open it up and cross it, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, with elements of other musical forms and styles.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Candlelight Ficus is long past being a brittle houseplant \u2013 it\u2019s a big musical tree, and it\u2019s growing like crazy. At the energetic live shows of the Graz funk-pop band, no foot stays still: earthy grooves, catchy pop melodies and archaic soul elements, straight to the bones. The sun is out.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t
